Fancy a professional hoverboard certification? Lux resort in the Maldives is the place to go for this latest trend in exciting sports.
In fact, in March this year some of the world's best riders including Callon Burns and Paul Buka the fellow benefactor of Aquatic Aviation LLC, the selective merchant of Zapata-Racing, visited the resort for some first-class fun!
Christian Redl also made his way to Lux Maldives for a great week of free diving in the blue Indian Ocean. His visit coincided with a free diving certification that was finished in just 1 day.
So one thing is clear; Lux Maldives is full of excitement!
The resort has a romantic Renewal of Vows ceremony which includes a symbolic wedding certificate, tropical beach ceremony, bridal bouquet and sparkling wine with wedding cake for those who are happy to have spent many years together.
For those tying the knot, the Island Dream Wedding Package with a tropical beach setup, symbolic wedding certificate, sunset cruise on a traditional dhoni with chilled sparkling wine and canapes and so much more takes care of all the nitty gritties of the big day.
Lux Maldives is situated in the Island of Dhidhoofilhu in the South Ari Atoll which is just beautiful. And there's so much to do, it's just out of this world!
The resort offers photo shoots where guests can capture those super memories made on the island.
For the sporty guest there are Lagoon dives, orientation dives, PADI open Water Dives, Diving with rebreather, Canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling and so on.
Don't forget to ask about the Whale Shark excursion where this enormous fish can be seen in its natural habitat. Couple it with a sumptuous lunch on a nearby island and you've got yourself a lifetime's worth of memories. And prepare to be pleasantly surprised by pop-up film shows and impromptu musical performances. If you're lucky, you can also catch the Secret Bar that makes its way around the island replete with a host of thirst-quenchers. Talk about ad-hoc fun!
On land there are fitness assessments, tennis courts and spa treatments (you absolutely must try the signature Shirley Page treatment and the Balinese massage; they are just heavenly). For some retail therapy the Maamigili Shopping Trip - an island journey to shop and go souvenir-hunting - is perfect.
It's almost like you haven't left home at all, but you're in a better place at the same time! Why? Because there's this cute phone booth from which guests can make local and international calls free of charge. What a chance to make a call home and brag about the great time you're having in the Maldives!
The kids will never want to leave as well. The Kids' Club "Play" keep the children busy with tennis, art classes, treasure hunts and other exciting activities. Even teenagers have special activities planned out for them, such as water sports and learning the local language and customs.
With all this, it's no wonder that the resort has been awarded the Leading Family Resort at the Maldives Travel Awards 2015!
While the resort has an array of accommodation categories available, they are all spacious and comfortable. They also have gorgeous views of the surroundings and are tastefully decorated.
The Prestige Water Villa comes highly recommended by Dancing on Ice star Laura Hamilton. She loved the spacious interiors and the gorgeous views of the lagoon from the living room.
So it's a super resort for a great vacation.
The many returning guests prove it!
This is ambiance dining at its best where you select your destination and the Lux Maldives team makes it happen for you. Choose from among a variety of destinations to dine ranging from the beach, the Veli pool, Coral Terrace, a Faree tent and Yoga Grove Sand setting.
The Island Kitchen serves up some super buffets all day and on some days they are accompanied by live music performances. Try the homemade popcorn-flavor ice cream and passion fruit sorbet- they are to die for!
Another must-try is the Lux's own signature brand of wine, Scrucap, produced in South Africa and coffee made of organic bean.
The Senses Lounge and Bar, Veli, Lagoon Bar, and The Beach (pizzeria) are the other great dining venues.
