This new boutique hideaway is everyone's dream holiday destination in the Noonu Atoll where luxury is taken to new levels. The island is named after the turtles which flock there to nest and hatch. So don't be surprised to find turtle motifs everywhere on the resort 'tastefully designed, of course, by Czech Architect Petr Kolar.
Privacy and Comfort rank high in the design of the ultra-luxurious resort's accommodation. With beautiful terraces and gazebos that provide shade, and a combination of beautiful greenery and subtly elegant architecture that leaves every guest feeling cozy and close to nature at the same time.
The resort has a cadre of private villas, houses and residences with some built over water. The most exquisite is a Romantic Pool Residence that can only be reached by boat.
Michelin-star chef, Adeline Grattard from Paris overseas all things culinary at the resort. Aragu and Cru is the island's signature restaurant set over the water. Fine dining here is just amazing, where two distinct concepts, 'simplistic' where individual tastes come alive, and 'sensational' where a combination of tastes take you on unique gastronomical journey, are the trademarks. All this is accompanied by vintage champagnes.
Tavaru, the Teppanyaki restaurant is a tower in the middle of the island. The best thing here is the extensive wine list which includes rare vintage Salon Champagne such as 1956 Domaine de la Romanee Conti to centuries old fortified wines.
If the beach is the heart of your existence, dine at Athiri where food is prepared at your request. Wood-fired pizzas are the signature dish served here throughout the day. Avi is also the poolside bar that is open all day and night where DJ music rocks the atmosphere as night falls.
They haven't forgotten to include Destination Dining and In-Villa Dining as well; special occasions are made better by these options.
The Spa by Clarins is the place to unwind and give up all your worries. The spa is home to the Maldives' first 'snow room' and several unique signature treatments that allow for a holistic spa experience.
It's total bliss....
And just when you think your holiday at Velaa Private Island couldn't get any better, they also reveal their Golf Academy. Designed by Jose Maria Olazabal, the academy is unlike any other with a state-of-the-art simulator, tuition programmes for the entire family and more.
Get into the waters for some great snorkeling with Seadoo Scooters available to reach the coral reefs. Windsurfing, Sailing, Kite Surfing, Kayaking and many other water sports are taken up on a daily basis at the resort as well. Overall, however, diving has to be the most popular. Some great unexplored dive site wait to be discovered, and the PADI certified instructors are happy to show guests what they need to know.
There are also a variety of excursions such as Dolphin excursions, Fishing cruises, Semi-submarine excursions, etc., to entice guests to experience the best of the Maldives.
For the usually busy parents, it's a worry-free vacation with their Kids' Club, in addition to a well-stocked library and boutique for some shopping as well.
A resort that goes beyond luxury, it's every holidaymaker's dream come true.
