A home away from home with its simply elegant design of villas, where each villa comes with a conveniently proper living room separated from the bedroom.
A feature which is not easily found for basic room categories in most other resorts. Amiable resort staff who always greet guests passing by.
Over water spa treatment rooms overlooking the serene azure ocean with the spa products of Clarins, a premium brand from UK which only supplies their goods to two resorts in the Maldives so far.
A resort that owns almost four times more of Water accommodation than Beach ones.
Welcome to The Residence
I stay at the Water Villa with Pool. Both Beach and Water Villas that come with a pool alternate with those without a pool.
As soon as I step into my villa, my cozy living room welcomes me pleasantly. Its back door leads to the sundeck area which faces the open ocean and a pool which is quite long and comfortable enough for a few laps of swimming!
To the left of my living room is the unpretentiously adorable double bedroom, complemented by a sofa bed, which also offers the spectacular views of the ocean.
What could be more delightful than having meals at The Dining Room restaurant? It offers extensive arrays of Asian cuisine fusion for ala-carte lunch. Singaporean, Chinese, and Indonesian cuisines are just to name a few.
All the delectable accompanied by the vast beach and ocean view do thoroughly pamper us. What makes our lunch perfect is the honor and privilege we have to dine with the General Manager who hosts our first meal in the resort.
What a humble, approachable and thoughtful this gentleman is. It is my first time to sit at the same table for a meal with a resort's GM after my more-than- thirty-resort visits. He shares with us The Residence’s upcoming plan of developing an island nearby as the second version of The Residence.
Hours prior to our departure from the resort, I go for a snorkelling trip. A swimming test is done before we sail to the open ocean. A smart move which is good especially for first timers in order to find out how comfortable the snorkelers will be in the ocean.
The Residence has a water sport that utilizes an aquatic vehicle called Velosub, also known as water bike. It looks like a surfing board with a circular transparent glass part on one side, and foot pedals on the other.
You have to lie down on your stomach on a Velosub, put your face above the glass, push the pedals with your feet, and you are good to go for an exercise while savoring the underwater beauty beneath the glass your face is on. A must try for non-swimmers, and it comes with an affordable price as well.
