The project will see the placement of sea wall breakers around the coast and in parts of the lagoon, a method that has been proven to minimize and even stop erosion in islands. Once implemented, we will be able to remove the sandbags currently placed around certain areas of the island, allowing guests to enjoy an un-obstructed view of the beautiful island.
The phase 1 of this project which has been started will have a pump that will fill out bags with a mixture of 10% cement and 90% sand which will then be submerged 120 meters down the coast.
The Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu resort would like to assure you that these works will not cause any noise pollution to disturb the peace and quiet of in-house guests, as most of the work will be done under water with the help of divers.
Divers will continue their work daily from 07:00 am to 04:00 pm. During this time, there will be no restrictions in terms of guest movement, snorkeling and swimming, except in the areas where the divers will carry on with their work. This is purely for the safety of our guests as the work takes place.
