"All-inclusive" is the most searched phrase in Maldives travel, and the most misunderstood. At the entry level, it means a set meal plan. At the level we work with, your seaplane transfer is covered. A fine wine cellar is on the house. You don't sign for a thing. These two categories share a name and nothing else.

All-inclusive in the Maldives is a wide category. Some packages cover only the basics. The ones we recommend include premium spirits, every dining venue, transfers and excursions, without surprises at check-out.

All-inclusive in the Maldives is a genuinely useful category, when the word means something.

What surprises most clients is the gap between what the label promises and what the booking actually covers. Seaplane transfers are almost always extra. Government tax (16% GST), service charge (10%), and the Green Tax (USD 12 per person per night) sit on top of every all-inclusive rate. Signature restaurants often have a one-visit policy or limited-seats restriction. Festive gala dinners on 24 and 31 December carry mandatory supplements of USD 350–900 per adult. Regardless of plan. And spa credits, where included, are usually one session per stay, not unlimited access. We tell you this before you book, because the resort usually doesn't.

The question we ask first is not “is this resort all-inclusive?” It is “what does all-inclusive actually cover at this property?” The answer varies dramatically, from a buffet with house wine to a plan that genuinely removes every financial decision from your trip.
